Generac announces new commercial standby generators

• 11 May 2005

WAUKESHA, Wis. - Generac Power Systems has unveiled its new line of automatic standby generators in a news release. The new QT Series models, ranging in output from 15 to 150 kilowatts, have been designed for commercial applications such as c-stores, restaurants and supermarkets. An example of the new QT models will be on display at Generac's booth (#607) at the NACStech show in Nashville on May 16-18.

All QT models feature sound-attenuated enclosures to ensure quiet operation under full load. Interior cooling fans and air passageways are designed for maximum cooling effectiveness and minimal noise. Generac's new Quiet-Test feature, from which the QT Series takes its name, causes the generator to automatically run at reduced engine speed when utility power is present. All QT Series gensets run on natural gas, eliminating concerns about fuel storage, spillage, spoilage and odor. The cleaner combustion of natural gas and quieter engine operation also minimize environmental concerns.

"These gensets were designed to meet the needs of small and medium-sized businesses," said Mike Carr, manager of marketing communications for Generac. "It's a revolutionary product that will bring clean, quiet and affordable standby power within the reach of millions of enterprises that have never had a backup generator."
