Planar announces displays with increased brightness

• 10 May 2006

BEAVERTON, Ore. - Planar Systems Inc., provider of flat-panel display systems, is expanding its open-frame family of displays by adding products featuring increased brightness. The new 15-inch LB1500R and LB1503R models feature a brightness of 550cd/m2 - almost twice as bright as standard displays.

The LB line is a new addition to Planar's existing LX family, including the LA and LC designs, developed to fulfill ATM, retail and ticketing kiosk needs for challenging indoor and outdoor environments.

The LB15 series offers options for integrating composite video for streaming video advertisements in retail or hospitality applications, as well as support live feeds from security cameras in areas such as retail stores, parking lots, or office lobbies. The LB1500R and LB1503R also can be integrated into interactive point-of-purchase kiosks, public transportation digital signage, as well as point-of-information or advertising displays inside trains or buses.

The LB series will be available in early May through U.S. IT resellers and distributors, as well as European channel partners. All Planar open-frame products feature a standard one-year repair/replace warranty, with extended warranty options available.
