24-hour ATMs not working in Pakistan

• 02 Jan 2008

The (Pakistan) Daily Times: The Islamabad public is facing problems like inoperable ATMs in the face of riots following the assassination of the Pakistan People’s Party Chairwoman Benazir Bhutto. After last Thursday’s riots, the government ordered closure of banks and since thenhardly any ATMs allow the withdraw of money. Most of the machines displayed messages like "out of cash," "link down" or "out of order," while some just had blank blue screens.
