In its e-mail to customers, redbox included pictures of skimming devices.
Redbox said it discovered a credit card skimming device on one of its machines in Tempe, Ariz., last week. According to redbox, the device was found before any information was lost.
Redbox also discovered evidence of possible skimming attempts in two other locations. Redbox is working with local authorities in each area to investigate these incidents. Although there is no evidence currently that these skimming attempts were successful, redbox contacted by e-mail its consumers who used those kiosks in an effort to make them fully aware of the situation and notified the major credit card companies so they can monitor the situation.
