Betson makes another move to get into the Illinois video gambling bonanza

• 21 Jan 2010

Looking to get into the anticipated $1 billion market for video gaming terminals and accessories in the wake of last year’s Illinois Video Gaming Act, coin-operated video game and vending machine distributor Betson Enterprises recently announced a financing alliance with The Funding Stop LLC, an Illinois-based direct finance lender.

This latest announcement comes on the heels of last month’s announcement that Betson would partner with WMS Gaming Inc., a supplier of video lottery terminals, slot machines and other gaming products, to be the exclusive distributor of WMS products in the impending Illinois video gaming market.

Illinois passed the Video Gaming Act in July, legalizing Video Gaming Terminals (VGTs) at licensed locations such as bars, restaurants, truck stops and fraternal and veterans’ organizations.

"We’re thrilled to have created a strategic alliance with partners like Betson and WMS," said The Funding Stop president Edgar Colomb. "We anticipate Betson to be licensed quickly in Illinois while WMS is already a well-respected name in the gaming industry. This agreement expands The Funding Stop’s ability to bring value to customers in Illinois."
