FRESNO, Calif. — Continental Prison Systems Inc. announced today that its EZ Card and Kiosk system solution for detention facilities has been awarded a request for proposal, or RFP, from the Clark County Jail Facility in Nevada. The RFP, announced recently at the Clark County Commissioner's meeting, calls for EZ Card and Kiosk and the County to enter into contract negotiations over the next 30 days.
The jail facility has approximately 3,500 beds serving the detention needs of Clark County. The implementation of the EZ Card and Kiosk system, as well as the training process, is expected to be completed by the end of July 2009. The facility will be incorporating many of EZ Card and Kiosk's solutions, including inmate trust account money loads, bail payments through lobby kiosks, remote Web-based transactions, booking kiosks and inmate release debit cards.
"Winning the Clark County RFP is the cumulative result from ongoing positive feedback from the detention facility industry," said Gregg Hodge, vice-president of sales and marketing for Continental. Now we can begin finalizing the multiyear contract and bringing all of EZ Card and Kiosk's services into play at this large facility, saving them time and money."
The technology will be displayed at the Annual Conference of the National Sheriff's Association in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., June 21-22.
